The Myers family members, Melissa and Max, are veterans in the camping world!
As a child Melissa grew up in a land of nature and imagination, a curious explorer of the bamboo forest, lead scientist at Pollywog Pond, and an original member of the junkyard kids, her childhood was filled with outdoor play, wonder, and adventure. Now, as a parent of three precocious adventurers, she is passionate about providing children with their own magical learning opportunities. Melissa is an advocate for alternative education with years of experience in the camp and environmental education field, as an instructor, naturalist, and director. Outside of summer camp weeks, Melissa is the Education Director with the Green Adventure Project, a nature inspired, inquiry based school for K-6 Learners in the Charlottesville area. Through GAP school she continues to share her passion for education in an outdoor environment.
