Discover and Thrive
Trailblazers
2nd-3rd grades
Campers enjoy a variety of hands-on activities throughout the week, including sports and games, art, and nature play. Wednesday mornings, Trailblazers have choice activity time allowing each camper to choose from specific activities. Options may include pony rides, challenge course (3rd grade), swimming, archery, sports, and more! Trailblazer campers have both recreational swim time and lessons taught by American Red Cross Lifeguards. This program is designed to meet the unique social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of young campers.
Groups are separated by gender and have about 16 campers with 2-3 counselors. This setup allows campers to discover their differences and similarities in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Skill Development
Trailblazers enhance 21st-century skills through activities like sportsmanship and team-building exercises, as well as creative pursuits in arts and crafts. They practice decision-making in a safe environment, which helps them think critically and reason objectively.
Social & Emotional Growth
Campers learn to recognize their feelings and understand how their actions affect themselves and others. This emotional awareness allows them to practice self-control and make positive choices throughout the camp day, fostering personal growth.
Motor Skills Enhancement
Through active play, such as running, jumping, and swimming, Trailblazers develop gross motor skills. Fine motor skills are strengthened through crafting, playing the ukulele, and fun handshakes, helping campers discover their interests and build confidence to explore new activities.
