Empowering Young Leaders
THE Edge
10th-11th grades
The Edge Program is tailored for campers ready to take on leadership roles, build real-life skills, and gain hands-on experience, giving them "the Edge" in future endeavors.
The EDGE campers may have opportunities to plan activities for younger campers, shadow staff, and participating in life skills sessions led by local business owners on essential skills like banking and budgeting. They’ll even be part of planning their group's out-of-camp trips, where they’ll learn practical skills in communication, budgeting, and trip logistics.
Our Edge program is available 6 weeks out of the summer (Weeks 3-8). It is a progressive program with each week building upon the week prior.
Empowering Future Leaders
The Edge program shapes campers into future leaders. By encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones, teens explore their interests and take on leadership roles. Engaging in activities and mentoring younger peers helps them develop essential skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Participants leave with enhanced confidence and a stronger sense of self, ready to lead in their communities and beyond.
Hands-On Leadership
Edge campers lead activities like Trailblazer Choice allowing them to prepare, plan, and present. They process their experiences with counselors and peers, enhancing their growth and confidence. This hands-on involvement reinforces their leadership skills and fosters meaningful connections with younger campers. Through this experience, Edge campers gain valuable insights into teamwork and responsibility, setting the foundation for their future roles as leaders.
Personal Development
Understanding that high school students are at varying stages of maturity, our program provides a supportive environment for Edge campers to step up at their own pace, gaining valuable skills like job interviewing, first aid, and program planning to prepare them for future challenges.
