Empowering teens
Teen scene
7th-9th grades
We understand that 7th-9th graders are looking for something fresh and exciting beyond the usual camp activities. That’s why we offer dynamic sessions filled with both beloved camp favorites and new adventures. In a time of change, we provide a stable environment where teens can truly thrive.
Throughout the week, Teen Scene campers engage in a variety of choice activities, including swimming, sports, horseback riding, art, nature exploration, and hiking. They also have the chance to embark on field trips, some which may include community service.
Supportive Environment
Our Teen Scene counselors partner with campers to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, fostering friendships and encouraging positive communication while leading by example. They support teens in embracing their identities and navigating the changes of early adolescence through intentionally designed activities.
skills development
We empower our 7th-9th graders to be problem solvers by providing opportunities for independent thinking and adjustment in a safe, caring environment. Campers practice essential social skills, such as active listening and effective teamwork, laying the foundation for strong interpersonal relationships and successful collaboration.
leadership & role modeling
Teen Scene participants are expected to set an example of what it means to be awesome. With special privileges come leadership opportunities, allowing them to practice important skills and demonstrate the impact they can make within the camp community and throughout Charlottesville.
