Wildlife Ecology and Conservation
This program starts by discussing wildlife research techniques and current projects in Virginia. Next, students are challenged to design and implement their very own wildlife study. Following the scientific method, students will develop their own questions and discuss how to collect the data. Finally, students participate in an on-going research project at our facility to see what it is like to be a wildlife biologist.
Students leave with a greater understanding of data collection techniques, the importance of wildlife conservation and a glimpse into the career of a wildlife biologist.
Wildlife Ecology and Conservation was designed for high school students, but based on popular request has been taught extensively to middle school classes. The activities and curriculum are tailored to meet your classes needs, please contact our staff to discuss your criteria.
