COURSE PHILOSOPHY

The fun and innovative sessions are customized to provide adventure and growth for all participants. The experience incorporates the "Challenge by Choice" philosophy where participants are encouraged to attempt each activity, but never forced. All activities are sequenced in a manner that promote the development of self confidence, group trust and equipment dependability. As individuals progress through the activities, they can interact on past experiences with the group, incorporate the insights gained from the previous situations, and translate those insights to the future.

Charlottesville's Challenge Course program customization allows groups to determine to what levels they shall soar.

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR #1 CONCERN

PreviewSafety is always our number one priority while on the Challenge Course. Challenge Course activities have a significantly lower accident occurrence than regular sporting or recreational activities. Our events and activities are responsibly designed and implemented, and all protective devices and procedures are continually evaluated and tested to ensure maximum safety. The Challenge Course is inspected by an independent company annually. We conduct monthly inspections, and inspections prior to setting up events for each use.

We make sure that safety is foremost in the minds of the participants before the activities begin. We begin the Challenge Course by contracting with the group to agree to all the safety standards of the course, and that they stay with the group the entire time they're on the course.

EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION

PreviewExperiential Education is a process through which a learner constructs knowledge, skill and value from direct experience.

Charlottesville's Challenge Course encourages all participants to step outside their comfort zones and take safe controlled risks. These risks give individuals and teams increased confidence and a sense of achievement they can implement into their personal and/or professional lives.
